A pochade is a thumbnail sketch, often an indispensable first step of a painting.
My pochade is 8 x 6.25". It's quite small. My palette is: flake white, titanium nickel yellow, yellow ochre (pale), vermilion, venetian red, burnt sienna, raw umber, ultramarine blue and ivory black.
